Contega is a small company but with a lot of experience. It all started in 1991.

The owner, Mats Edvardsson, started the company in a basement with four other neighbor companies. The cooperation resulted in some Digital Signage jobs. Later, Crawford Door wanted some FEM calculations and also some programming, designing ports for the desert sandstorms.

As Mats had some experience from CAD, Volvo Trucks asked for education and then the teaching era began. We had to hire more employees when Volvo Trucks ordered a lot of different educations. Later on also the Volvo/GTG high school was interested and we worked as teachers for four years. Volvo Trucks asked for some help in production planning in developing an Excel spread sheet. That project led to a major programming of production planning, se reference #1507. Another project at Volvo Trucks was also based on Excel, it was Visitor Planning, reference #1509. When discussions about what the program was supposed to manage it was decided to be a bigger project and a lot of programming.

Parallell to this Volvo focus, SKF wanted to document the knowledge of a floor planner. That documentation led to reference #1506.

Then it was a lot focus on programming. As seen on reference #1510 we created a substitute for ink drawings. To publish drawings at the same time they were designed was a tremendous success. Back to Volvo, Volvo Cars had seen the Visitor Planning program at Volvo Trucks and was interested. That lead to reference #1508. A total rewriting of CSVP to meet much higher demands.

SKF has a factory where they pack so called kits. This factory had started to make a production monitoring program and wanted to increase the efforts to make it more capable in many aspects. That led to reference #1502. In conjunction with that, another project started to plan the production according to the concept Lean Production, reference #1501.

The organisation that has responsability for the price settings in Europe wanted to have a calculation program for guiding the price settings in all countries. Se reference #1503.

The story of Contega is based on curiosity and humility.
